THAMES is a brand new postpunk band based around lead singer & guitarist Merlyn Baartman. With family ties to Suffolk, England he is no stranger to the British and Irish punk & new wave influences (i.e. The Cure, Fontaines D.C. and IDLES). Although his UK predecessors have proven to be a great source of inspiration, it was only until his move to Amsterdam that he realised how emotionally closed off the Brits sometimes actualy can be. THAMES combines high energy morality (i.e. anti toxic masculinity) with a modern British postpunk sound.
